Do I need my own bot?

No — FameConvert uses a shared server-side bot to call getFile and stream the download. Note: file_ids are bot-specific, so a file_id issued by another bot won't resolve here. Works best with file_ids from public channels or files forwarded to a FameConvert-linked bot.

Is there a size limit?

Telegram Bot API allows downloads up to 20 MB per file. Larger files need MTProto (the full Telegram client protocol) and aren't supported here.

Why did my file_id fail?
